Sergio Perez and Red Bull officially part ways

Sergio Perez will no longer drive for Red Bull. The Mexican will leave after the end of the current Formula 1 season.

The driver announced his decision on social media, with both parties having reached an "agreement to part ways".

It is still unclear who will be the new teammate of world champion Max Verstappen. However, the name of Liam Lawson has been rumored for several weeks. Red Bull boss Christian Horner himself said in an interview with Sky Sports News that the choice for a new driver in the team will be between Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda.

Perez finished eighth in the general standings in the recently concluded F1 season, remaining 285 points behind his teammate Verstappen. The Mexican has not reached a single podium in his last 19 races. However, he was mainly responsible for Red Bull's constructors' titles in 2022 and 2023. | BGNES
