Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabic, announced that a leader like President Aleksandar Vucic will not be born in the next 300 years, BGNES reported.
Burnabych expressed hope that the head of state will not retire from politics in 2027.
"There is no one who is 100% committed to Serbia like Vucic. I have time for my personal life, I don't think at any moment about protests and who gives money to overthrow the government. But Vucic doesn't have a private life, no!" Brnabic told Serbian pro-government Pink TV.
If Vucic retires from politics in 2027, nobody will be thinking about Serbia non-stop anymore. We're all going to drive people crazy here as we fight for a piece of power," she added.
Ana Brnabic, part of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party /SPP/, said that the many thousands of protests in the country in recent months "were not only directed against Vucic, but for the first time they turned into something different - a protest against all science and progress".
The speaker of the parliament claimed that tens of millions of euros were invested in the overthrow of Vučić, because "Serbia dared to make decisions on its own."
BGNES recalls that on August 10, 2024, over 40,000 people protested in the Serbian capital against the opening of a lithium mine in the Jadar Valley by the Rio Tinto mining company.
In the early hours of August 11, President Aleksandar Vucic organized a crisis meeting regarding the protests. A meeting of the crisis headquarters, headed by him personally, was held in the presidency building.
At a press conference after the meeting, Vucic said the protests were "part of a hybrid process to carry out a color revolution" and accused the opposition of organizing a coup d'état. I BGNES
