VMRO-DPMNE came to power with promises to improve our negotiating position regarding the French proposal. We only see a deterioration of our relations with Bulgaria. This is not in favor of the national interests of the country (North Macedonia).
This was stated by Venko Filipche, chairman of the former ruling party Social Democratic Union (SDSM), regarding the relations between Skopje and Sofia, BGNES reported.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced that he is not optimistic about North Macedonia's membership in the EU.
"We don't see a single step in the direction of trying to do something in the context of what they promised. I really don't see wisdom in this policy. I think that so far this government has not shown any intention to continue the European path," Filipche said.
The SDSM leader emphasized that the citizens expect all necessary steps to be taken so that Skopje starts negotiations with the EU as soon as possible.
"And this is the government's responsibility. To do everything according to their promises to improve the position. We only see a deterioration of our relations with Bulgaria. This is not in favor of the country's national interests," Filipche explained. | BGNES
