German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reminded Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic of Belgrade's obligations under the Ohrid Agreement, Vreme reported.
A German government spokesman said the two leaders had discussed "the state of bilateral relations" by telephone. The "common interest in constructive cooperation, oriented towards results" was emphasized.
"At the same time, the chancellor clarified the Serbian obligations in the implementation of the Ohrid agreement," added the spokesperson.
Vucic wrote on Instagram that he "informed" Scholz in detail about the "almost unbearable situation of the Serbian community in Kosovo. The Serbian president once again emphasized the lack of progress on the establishment of the Association of Serbian Municipalities (ASO) in Northern Kosovo.
"I emphasized that on this, not always easy path, we need the help of our partners, such as Germany. We rely on constant support for European integration, as well as concrete incentives to give a new impetus to continue the reform processes and a new energy of the candidate countries on the way to the EU," he added.
Vucic thanked Germany for the "excellent economic relations" with Serbia and recommended the "investment potentials that have opened up within the framework of EXPO 2027"./BGNES
