Saudi Arabia's ambitious tourist destination, Qiddiya, near Riyadh, will soon feature a theme park inspired by the beloved Japanese manga series "Dragon Ball," according to reports from AFP.
This announcement follows the recent passing of the series' creator, Akira Toriyama, at the age of 68, leaving fans worldwide mourning his loss.
Spanning 500,000 square meters, the park will immerse fans in the iconic journey from the original "Dragon Ball" series to the latest installment, "Dragon Ball Super," offering an array of experiences at the heart of the action.
Since its debut in 1984, "Dragon Ball" has captivated audiences globally, spawning numerous anime series, movies, and video games.
While the opening date and construction costs are yet to be disclosed, Qiddiya authorities envision the park divided into seven themed areas, each representing the magical dragon balls central to the series.
With over 30 attractions planned, including a towering 70-foot dragon at its center, the "Dragon Ball" theme park aims to be a highlight of Qiddiya's entertainment city project, alongside other high-end theme parks, motorsports facilities, and a safari zone.
News of the upcoming theme park has also impacted Toei Animation, the studio behind the "Dragon Ball" anime series, with its shares rising by 6.7%. /BGNES
