Samsung Electronics' operating profit rose about fifteen-fold to $7.5 billion in the second quarter as chip prices rebounded and demand for generative artificial intelligence continued to grow.
The world's largest memory chip maker posted an "operating profit of 10.44 trillion (Korean won) as favourable conditions in the memory market led to a higher average selling price," it said in the statement. That's a jump from 670 billion won in the April-June period a year earlier. | BGNES
