Russia storms Donetsk city because of the elections

The Russian occupation forces became more active in the Avdeevka region because of the elections, commented military analyst and former Ukrainian special services officer Ivan Stupak.

According to him, the Russians should occupy the city to create a victory effect and mobilize the electorate before the start of Vladimir Putin's election campaign. "Why Avdeevka? Because if you look at the map and see the position of the Russian troops, any person who is far from military affairs will understand that there are prospects for an encirclement.

"It is clear that the Russian command is trying to use all possible resources and forces and means to surround our military as quickly as possible, take them prisoner or destroy them, as well as seize Western equipment," he said on the air on the TV channel FREEDOM, to which the UNIAN agency refers.

According to the analyst, the occupiers must capture Avdeevka in the Donetsk region before December - that's when Putin's election campaign begins. Separately, this will be the "culmination of victory", since for a long time the invaders had no success at the front. "And this will allow, in the opinion of the Kremlin, to mobilize the electorate, not the military, but the electorate, to give Putin a natural number of votes. This is related to the madness with which the Russian troops attack again and again in waves, like one wave change to another," says the former SBU employee. /BGNES
