Russia's ties with North Korea make China nervous

China is concerned about the growing ties between the Russian Federation and North Korea, with Beijing feeling increasingly uncomfortable.

This was stated by US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell at a seminar at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Guardian reported.
According to him, the issue of interaction between the countries is becoming an increasingly uncomfortable topic for the Chinese interlocutors. They are concerned that Russian encouragement might encourage North Korea to take actions that would not be in China's interest."
Beijing may also fear that this "military plot" will help Washington form a network of alliances in East Asia with South Korea and Japan, according to the Japanese foreign ministry.
Beijing said it knew nothing about the transfer of North Korean troops to Russian territory. Beijing supports a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine, but the United States has systematically rebuked it for supporting Russia's ability to go to war. | BGNES
