"The concentration of NATO ships in the Black Sea portends a threat to Russia. Moscow will take all necessary measures to ensure its own security. We take into account the actions of Bulgaria and Romania - the littoral member states of NATO".
This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, TASS reported.
Peskov's statement was in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's decree, which put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on Ukraine's maritime security strategy.
"The main objectives of this strategy are the development of the naval forces of Ukraine and the provision of a permanent presence of NATO forces in the Black Sea. Of course, the concentrated presence of NATO ships - we take into account both Bulgaria and Romania, coastal countries that are members of the alliance. This poses an additional threat to the Russian Federation, especially given the direct involvement of NATO countries in the conflict over Ukraine. Of course, Russia will take all necessary measures to ensure its own security," the spokesman said. | BGNES
