Six people have been killed and dozens injured after two waves of strikes on the resort on the outskirts of the city, while five people have been killed in more attacks in the wider region.
On 19 May, Russia struck a lakeside resort on the outskirts of Kharkiv and attacked villages in the surrounding area, killing at least 11 people and injuring dozens. The prosecutor's office said six people died at the resort, one was missing and 27 were wounded.
Rescuers said the initial strike was followed by a second strike about 20 minutes later, targeting emergency crews at the scene.
"There were never any soldiers here," said Jaroslaw Trofimko, a police inspector who arrived after the first strike and was then overtaken by the second. Five more people were killed and nine wounded later in the day in two villages in Kupyansk region. The local governor, Oleg Sinehubov, said Russian forces had shelled two villages in the district with self-propelled grenade volley fire.
The prosecutor's office said one person had died in Russian shelling in the town of Vovchansk, a town at the center of the Russian incursion that began just over a week ago. Three people were wounded. The missile strikes were the latest in a steady stream of Russian attacks in recent weeks in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, where Russian troops have launched an offensive. / BGNES
