Romania is building an "emergency" road to Ukraine

A new map showed a 280km "emergency" road to be built across Europe to Ukraine.

The new road will run from the Romanian capital Bucharest to the city of Siret in Ukraine in an attempt to open a new transport corridor to allow access to ports in Romania.

It will bypass Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia, providing direct access to Ukraine. The Romanian press claims that the highway is being built as quickly as possible, using around 3,000 workers and hundreds of vehicles.

"Staff are working around the clock, seven days a week to complete the road," they added.

The road will open a new route for supplies to reach the front line in Ukraine's war against Russia after Turkey banned two British ships provided to the country from entering its waters.

On its way from Bucharest to Siret, the road will stop in Ploiesti, Buzau, Foksani, Bacau, and Paskani.

It comes as Vladimir Putin is said to be "panicking" as the war continues to hit the Russian economy hard, leading to claims that those living in the country could take to the streets. /BGNES
