Romania said it late found fragments of a drone on a farm near the Danube River and the border with Ukraine.
Russia has been striking targets in western and central Ukraine with missiles and drones at night.
"On the evening of March 28, 2024, fragments that appear to originate from an aerial device (drone) were identified on agricultural land in Insula Mare a Brailei," the Romanian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"The Ministry of National Defense, together with specialized structures within the National Defense System, Public Order and National Security, is conducting an investigation into the incident."
NATO has a commitment to mutual defense if one of its members is attacked, but the Atlantic alliance and Romanian officials have said after similar incidents in the past that they have found no evidence of a deliberate attack aimed at Romania. /BGNES
