The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced this year's nominees, unveiling the names of 15 performers, AFP reports.
For the first time, the list includes the inimitable Mariah Carey and Cher, the goddess of pop music.
Other debut nominees include rock stars Forriner and Peter Frampton, funk legends Kool & the Gang, singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz, Britpop icons Oasis, soul singer Shade and Sinead O'Connor.
But while many of the performers may be celebrating, the nomination isn't exactly music to Cher's ears.
In December, the 77-year-old pop diva slammed the Hall of Fame for ignoring her for years.
At the same time, the nominations will mark the first time Osbourne has been considered as a solo artist; he was previously listed in 2006 as the frontman for Black Sabbath. /BGNES
