Raya Nazaryan: Prominent political figures should not be candidates for acting prime minister

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, will not be among the candidates for acting Prime Minister, reported BGNES.

Raya Nazaryan held talks with President Rumen Radev, after earlier today "There is such a people" political party (ITN) returned the folder with the third mandate unfulfilled.

She stated that she had a meaningful long conversation with the head of state on all topics on the society's agenda, including the future of Bulgaria in the short and long term. "We discussed the return of the good dialogue between the parties as an important and good trend, and we agreed that it should continue in the upcoming election campaign, because the issue is important precisely for voter turnout and, above all, for the return of trust in political processes," said Nazarian.

The Speaker of the Parliament indicated that in this context the two of them also discussed her possible agreement to accept the position of Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria." And I reaffirmed before him my position, which I stated before you a few days ago, namely that bright political figures will neither contribute to the good tone and good dialogue between the parties in a mere pre-election campaign that must continue nor will they increase confidence in the political process," Nazaryan announced.

She is categorical that GERB will appear in these elections with an equal start with all other political formations and will fight for an honest victory.

"The most important thing for an acting prime minister is to ensure the conduct of fair and transparent elections, and bright political figures will not lead to trust in this process, and Bulgaria needs trust and a good dialogue between political formations," concluded Nazaryan. | BGNES
