Rapper Sean Diddy Combs arrested on sexual exploitation charges

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, said the arrest was the result of a sealed indictment filed by his office.

"We expect to file a motion to unseal the indictment in the morning and we'll have something to say then," Williams said, without providing further details about the charges.

Diddy's attorney, Mark Agnifilo, said Combs had voluntarily moved to New York in anticipation of the charges.

Agnifilo said their team was "disappointed in the decision to pursue what we believe is an unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office."

The rapper is the subject of several civil lawsuits that describe him as a sexual predator who uses alcohol and drugs to subjugate his victims.

In March, federal agents raided his properties as part of a two-pronged operation that revealed Combs was under federal investigation and a potential criminal case.

His legal team said Combs was "cooperating with the investigation" and "looks forward to clearing his name in court." | BGNES
