The legendary Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic may have one final showdown at the Paris Olympics.
The draw determined that the two could meet in the second round of the competition, which will be held on the courts of Roland Garros.
Nadal, 38, in his final year on Tour, will play Hungary's Marton Fuchovic in the first round, while Djokovic starts with Australia's Matthew Ebden. If both of them win, they will play their 60th match between them, and the balance so far is extremely even - 30 wins for the Serbian and 29 for the Spaniard. Likely, this will also be their last fight, as Rafa is already nearing the end of his career. The last meeting between the two was at Roland Garros in 2022 when Nadal recorded a clear victory in the quarterfinals.
Nadal is the Olympic singles champion from Beijing 2008 and also has a gold medal in doubles from London 2012. Djokovic, for his part, has never become an Olympic champion. He has a bronze medal in singles from Beijing.
World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz starts against wildcard Hadi Habib of Lebanon, while Tokyo Games champion Alexander Zverev starts against Spain's Jaume Munnar. World number one Yannick Siner misses the race due to angina. Bulgaria's first rocket Grigor Dimitrov will not participate either. | BGNES
