Radiohead singer Thom Yorke argues with fans about Gaza during concert

The singer and songwriter was delivering a solo performance when an audience member challenged him on the Gaza war: 'How many dead children do you need to condemn the genocide in Gaza?

Thom Yorke responded coyly, accusing him of ruining the concert, then provoked him by ordering him to join him on stage: "Don't stand there like a coward, come here and say it to my face."

Shoved off the stage to boos from the crowd, Thom Yorke returned a few minutes later to perform "Karma Police", a Radiohead hit released in 1997.

In 2017, the British band condemned a campaign calling on them to cancel a concert in Israel, describing calls for a boycott as patronising and "an extraordinary waste of energy".

Later, in a Twitter post (at the time), the singer stressed that "playing in a country does not mean endorsing its government".

"We played in Israel for over 20 years with successive governments, some more liberal than others. Just like in America. We don't support (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu any more than we support Donald Trump, but we continue to play in the United States," he explained. | BGNES
