Racism marrs Milan's dramatic comeback win against Udinese

Milan achieved a dramatic 3:2 away win against Udinese in a match of the 21st round of the Italian Serie A. The game will be remembered, however, for the racist insults directed at the goalkeeper of the "Rossoneri" Mike Maignan, which led to a temporary suspension of the match in the first half.

The French goalkeeper could not withstand the attacks in the first half and after a short conversation with the referee went to the dressing room. After ten minutes, Maignan returned to the field and the match was resumed. Otherwise, the score was level at the break after Ruben Loftus-Cheek had put Milan ahead, but the hosts equalized through Lazar Samardzic. After the break, Florian Thauvin scored a second for Udinese, but Stefano Pioli's side made it three points with late goals from substitutes Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor.

Milan remain third in the standings with 45 points, four behind second-placed Juventus, who have a game in hand. Udinese are just above the relegation zone with 18 points. In the next round, the team from Udine visits Atalanta, while the "Rossoneri" host Bologna.

Earlier, Daniele De Rossi made his debut in charge of Roma with a win. They beat Verona 2-1 at the "Olimpico" with Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Pellegrini on target. The goal for the guests was scored by Michael Folorunsho. /BGNES
