Queens of the Stone Age cancel all concerts in 2024

The No One Knows artists have announced on X that they are canceling all of their 2024 concerts due to Josh Homme receiving "medical attention."

"QOTSA (Queens of the Stone Age) regret to announce the cancellation or postponement of all remaining concerts in 2024. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and receive necessary medical care for the rest of the year ", the group wrote.

The announcement comes just over a month after the band had to cancel dates on their European tour so the 51-year-old frontman could undergo emergency surgery "immediately", People reported.

Queens of the Stone Age then announced on social media that they had to cancel eight concerts.

"Queens is devastated that we are unable to play for you. We apologize for any inconvenience and share your disappointment and sadness," they wrote under the post.

In addition, the band shared a note saying: "QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the US immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort has been made to move forward and play for you, but no longer it is possible to do it".

"Festival ticket holders should visit the specific festival's website for up-to-date information. Headline ticket holders will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with further information," the band added.

In June 2023, Homme revealed in an interview that he had been diagnosed with cancer a year ago, but did not want to elaborate too much, other than that he had a successful surgery to remove it.

"I'm never saying it can't get worse. I'm never saying that and I wouldn't advise it. But I'm saying it can get better," he said at the time.

"Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time, you know? I'm extremely grateful that I'm going to deal with it and look back on it as something that kind of came off—but it's going to make me better. That's fine with me. There's a lot of things I want to do. And there are a lot of people I want to do those things with," he added. | BGNES
