Putin gave Kim Jong Un a Russian car

Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a Russian-made car, Pyongyang's state media said, as the two countries strengthen ties in areas from tourism to defense.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, "presented a Russian-made car to Kim for his personal use," Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency reported.
Kim's influential sister, Yo Jong, said "the gift serves as a clear demonstration of the special personal relationship between the top leaders" of the two countries, KCNA added.
The report did not specify the model of the car.
Since Kim visited Putin last year, Pyongyang has grown closer to Moscow, with a group of Russian tourists arriving earlier this month on a four-day trip - the first foreign tour group before the pandemic-related border closures of 2020.
Since September's Kim-Putin summit in the Russian Far East, the United States and South Korea have repeatedly said the North sent weapons to Moscow to use in its war with Ukraine, in exchange for Russian help with Kim's satellite programs.
The Russian leader will now make a return visit to Pyongyang, both sides said.
Kim is known for his affinity for luxury cars. He has been spotted using luxury cars, including Lexus SUVs and Mercedes-Benz S-Class models. /BGNES
