Regular consumption of semi-finished breakfast foods can provoke the development of colon and stomach cancer, Irina Baranova, a general practitioner and candidate of medical sciences, warned Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
She explained that semi-finished products, including such a popular product as sausages, contain a large number of flavour enhancers, stabilisers and flavourings, as well as preservatives that improve their appearance and extend their shelf life. In addition, during the production of semi-finished products, meat is treated with various substances which can lead to the formation of carcinogenic compounds. Baranova stressed that together these factors significantly increase the risk of developing two types of cancer - colon and stomach.
In addition, regular consumption of meat gastronomic products threatens the formation of gallstones, the therapist noted. According to her, the same sausages contain a lot of trans fats and low-quality saturated fats, which cause bile to compact and slow down its outflow. This leads to its stagnation and, as a result, stone formation, the doctor explained.
Earlier, gastroenterologist Aliya Useyeva warned about the dangers of drinking a glass of water on an empty stomach. According to her, the benefits of this habit are not proven, and at the same time it can harm digestion. | BGNES
