Poland and South Korea to sign military equipment deal in September

"Poland, South Korea likely to sign additional military equipment contracts in September".
This was stated by Polish Minister of Defense Władysław Kosińak-Kamisz after meeting with his South Korean counterpart Shin Won-sik, TVP World reported.
Kosińak-Kamis revealed that the talks focused on cooperation between the Polish and Korean arms industries and the purchase of equipment for the Polish army.
The Polish minister said the signing of additional executive contracts for Korean equipment is likely to take place at the International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDI) in Kielce in September. He said discussions on the financing of these contracts were "very close to being finalised".
Kosiniak-Kamish said this mainly concerned a contract for the supply of 180 K2 tanks.
The contract for the first 180 machines is currently being executed; the framework agreement includes a total supply of 1,000 machines for the Polish army, which will be a Polonized version of the K2PL tank.
Kosiniak-Kamish said the K2s will be produced in Poland, indicating that the aim is to have some of the tanks from the contract planned for September produced in Polish plants.
He added that he had received assurances from the Korean side about the smooth transfer of the necessary technology. | BGNES
