Pilot killed in a Russian military plane crash

The Tu-22M3 is a long-range strategic bomber manufactured by the military manufacturer Tupolev.

One pilot was killed and three were injured when a Russian fighter jet crashed during a training flight over Siberia, AFP reported.

The Tu-22M3 plane went down late on August 15 in a deserted area of ​​the Irkutsk region, regional governor Igor Kobzev said.

Rescue efforts "continued all night...unfortunately, one of the pilots could not be saved," Kobzev wrote on Telegram, as quoted by the Russian Defense Ministry.
