Phoenix cruise past Lakers in Durant's return

Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal returned to the Phoenix Suns' starting lineup and led the team to a resounding 127:100 victory over the LA Lakers at home in an NBA Cup game.

The pair each scored 23 points in the win, with Durant grabbing 6 rebounds and Beal also making a block. Devin Booker led the Suns with 26 points and 10 assists. Center Jusuf Nurkic also had a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Grayson Allen added 10 points off the bench.

Anthony Davis had a strong game for the visitors from California, finishing with 25 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocks. LeBron James came close to a triple-double with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves added 16 and 15 points respectively, but their efforts were not enough.

The two teams are tied in the Western Conference with equal records – 10-7, with Phoenix in fifth and the Lakers in sixth place. In their next games, LA visits the San Antonio Spurs, while the Suns host the Brooklyn Nets.
