McCartney last played in France there in 2018, according to AFP.
"Here's Paul, Paul McCartney, coming to play in France. Last time we came we had a great time, it's always great in France. So come, we'll have fun," the singer continued.
In November 2018, the bassist and his band played in front of 40,000 people at Paris' La Défense Arena, the largest indoor venue in Europe, where Taylor Swift recently played. The Liverpool-born performer promised to return.
The 81-year-old "Macca" performed as part of his "Got back" world tour. A nod to "Get Back," the original name of the project for which the Beatles entered a London studio in January 1969.
These sessions later provided the ammunition for "Abbey Road" (1969). And most notably, the songs reworked by producer Phil Spector - known for his famous "wall of sound" effect - gave rise to "Let it be", the last album released (1970), with a song titled "Get back".
The "Get back" tour kicks off in the United States in 2022, then moves to Australia, Mexico and Brazil in 2023. For this tour, "Sir Paul" and his bandmates are drawing from the repertoire of the Beatles, the Wings - another McCartney project - and the former Beatle's solo albums.
Tickets will go on sale June 21.
Paul McCartney is always in the news. On June 14, One Hand Clapping, the Wings album recorded in concert in 1974, was finally released.
Paul McCartney ultrafans are already familiar with this album, pirated versions of which are circulating. In 2010, a DVD was released as a bonus to the reissue of the Wings album Band on the Run, but it does not include all of the recorded tracks.
"One Hand Clapping" contains 26 of them, 27 even if one counts the solo piano medley of "Macca", a reunion of "The Long and Winding Road" and "Lady Madonna". | BGNES
