The long-awaited first trailer for Paddington in Peru has been released, giving a glimpse at the Brown family's latest action-packed adventure.
The trailer begins with Paddington, the beloved marmalade-loving bear, preparing for a passport photo while waiting to visit Aunt Lucy at the Retirement Home for Bears in Peru. However, the encounter takes an unexpected turn when Paddington learns that Aunt Lucy has gone on a mysterious journey deep into the jungle. This leads the Brown family to embark on a daring mission to find her.
Described as the "vacation of a lifetime," the footage reveals an Indiana Jones-style adventure in which Paddington and his companions traverse various terrains by plane, taxi and boat, eventually leading them to the dense Amazon rainforest. The challenges they face require ingenuity and courage as they navigate the wilds of Peru.
The film's promotional poster depicts Paddington using an umbrella as a raft and a log as a paddle. Ben Whishaw portrays Paddington and Imelda Staunton voices Aunt Lucy. Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin return to the cast as the Brown family, while Emily Mortimer takes on the role of Sally Hawkins.
Also returning to the cast are Jim Broadbent as Samuel Gruber, newcomer Antonio Banderas as the cantankerous riverboat captain Hunter Cabot, Carla Toews as his daughter Gina and Olivia Colman as the Reverend Mother who oversees the Retirement Home for Bears.
The film was directed by Dougal Wilson and produced by David Heyman and Rosie Allison, with executive producers Paul King, Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, Dan McRae, Tim Wellspring, Jeffrey Clifford and Naoya Kinoshita. The screenplay was written by Mark Burton, John Foster and James Lamont from a story by King, Burton and Simon Farnaby.
Paddington in Peru, the third installment in the Paddington series, will debut in British cinemas on Nov. 8, 2024, and will be released in the United States on Jan. 17, 2025. | BGNES
