International Olympic Committee (IOC) sports director Keith McConnell has revealed how many tickets have been sold so far for the Paris Olympics.
"More than 8.8 million tickets have been sold - the largest number for a sporting event in France," McConnell announced.
He also noted that security for the games "involves some 30,000 personnel from various services" and 166 delegations are registered in the Olympic Village. According to the IOC sports director, there have been few complaints about the conditions of the Games venues.
The Summer Olympics in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. 206 national Olympic committees and one refugee team will participate in the competitions. 35 sports venues will be used for the games, 14 of which are located within a dozen kilometres of the Olympic Village. | BGNES
