Over 1,000 Ukrainian refugees to Germany watched the training of the national team before the start of Euro 2024

More than 1,000 Ukrainian refugees to Germany watched the Ukrainian national team train in Wiesbaden. The training took place a day before the start of Euro 2024, reported AFP.

For Ukrainian refugees in Germany, supporting the national team at Euro 2024 is an important way to show solidarity with soldiers fighting on the front line at home, AFP reported.
The crowd, mostly young people and mothers with children, carried bouquets of flowers and waved Ukrainian flags at the stadium in Wiesbaden, where the national team has its base camp.

"When the soldiers learn about their victory, it will make them stronger," said 18-year-old student Nikita Mishchenko, who arrived in Germany two years ago with his mother.

His father, a police officer, stayed behind to repair tanks during the hostilities.
Nikita is one of over one million Ukrainians who have found refuge in Germany - the host country of the Euro 2024 tournament. | BGNES
