Serious questions are being raised about the counting of votes and the announcement of the results of the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) observers of the country's vote announced.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was re-elected to the post with more than 90 percent of the vote.
A number of organizations and non-governmental groups warned that these elections in Azerbaijan were neither free nor fair.
The OSCE monitoring mission indicated that the vote was characterized by a lack of real political alternatives in a restricted environment and that there were indications of ballot fraud, with one person handing in multiple completed ballots.
Official Baku has not yet commented on the position of the international mission. /BGNES
