The Oklahoma City Thunder won their record 15th straight game after beating the defending champion Boston Celtics 105-92 at home on Wednesday night.
The Thunder trailed by 10 points at halftime but held their opponents to just 27 points over the next two quarters to pull away. Star Shay Gilges-Alexander was at his usual high level, scoring 33 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, but the home team's biggest weapon in the game was their defense. They held the Celtics to just 36.5 percent shooting and only 9 three-pointers out of 46 attempts. Jayson Tatum scored 26 points for the visitors, and Jaylen Brown added 21.
Thus, the Oklahoma City Thunder continues to lead convincingly in the Western Conference with 30 wins and 5 losses, while Boston occupies second position in the East with an asset of 26-10.
