The Golden State Warriors won for the third time since the start of the season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 124:106 at home and avenged their loss to the LA Clippers in the first home game of the regular season.
In the absence of injured star Steph Curry, the Warriors were led by Buddy Hield. The guard led the team with 28 points on 9/18 from the field and 7/11 from three. Lindy Waters III had a strong outing off the bench, finishing with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Brandin Podziemski scored 19 points, and Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga scored 17 each. The hosts scored 21 three-pointers from 46 attempts.
For the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson finished with 30 and 31 points, respectively, but didn't get help from the rest of their teammates. No one outside of Ingram and Williamson reached double figures in points. The other three players from the starting five - Daniel Theis, Herbert Jones and CJ McCallum scored only five points each.
New Orleans is 11th in the West with a 2-2 record, while Golden State is fifth in the Conference with three wins and one loss. The two teams face each other again tonight in San Francisco.
