Nina Dobrev and Sean White are getting married. The 35-year-old actress and the 38-year-old Olympic snowboarder shared the news on the social network Instagram, along with a few photos of the proposal.
Nina wrote under the photos, "RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé."
White popped the big question to Dobrev earlier this month, the couple told Vogue in an interview.
He tricked her into thinking she was invited to an intimate Vogue/CFDA dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan in New York, but when she came down the stairs, she saw him standing under a white floral arch with rose petals and candles strewn across the room.
"I went into shock. I just froze and stared at him," she said, recalling repeating, "No!"
Eventually Dobrev was able to say yes, and White put a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring on her finger.
The actress admitted that she lost consciousness during the proposal itself, but still knew that "he said all the right things."
The couple ended up celebrating their engagement with friends until 1 a.m.
White said that he had actually been planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend for months - first during their summer trip, and then during their vacation in Cape Town, South Africa - but that the plans fell through for various reasons.
Rumours first surfaced that the two were going out in March 2020, when they were first seen together. A few months later, their romance was officially confirmed when they were spotted kissing on the beach. | BGNES
