Netflix and Amazon Prime Video actor Chance Perdomo, known for his roles in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Gen V, has died tragically at the age of 27 after a motorcycle accident.
His family confirmed the shocking news in a statement and said: "His passion for art and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him," OK reported.
"His warmth will continue to be carried by those he loved the most. We ask that you respect the family's desire for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother," the family said in a statement.
No one else is believed to be involved in this tragic incident.
Chance starred as Andre Anderson in Gen V alongside Jazz Sinclair, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips and London Thor. After his death, the show's producers postponed the upcoming second season and made a heartfelt statement.
"We can't imagine this. To those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and most of all, just a very kind and pleasant person. Even if writing about him in the past tense makes no sense. We are so sorry to Chance's family and mourn the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight," the producers wrote.
A spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television added: "The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television extend their heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance's family and all who loved him at this Difficult moment".
Fans flocked in droves to pay their respects to the actor.
"Rest in peace Chance Perdomo, life is too short, it's sad we'll never get to see him live out his dream of playing Miles Morales," one fan said.
The actor, who was born in Los Angeles but grew up in Southampton, England, also stars as Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alongside Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch and Michelle Gomez.
