Netflix has released two adaptations of cult Christmas movies

Netflix has released two cherished adaptations of beloved holiday movies that are different in their own right, but are equally appreciated by fans.

The global streaming giant now boasts an enviable roster of holiday movies, including timeless hits like "The Holiday" and "Jack Frost," as well as newer gems like "Klaus" and the "Princess Suicide" series, the Mirror reported.

As Christmas approaches, viewers can expect even more merry offerings to appear on the platform in December, but Netflix may have outdone itself with its latest additions.

Played by two megastars, the central character in these films has been named one of the most memorable July figures to ever grace the page, going from villain to hero.

No, we're not talking about "A Christmas Carol," but Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," which just became available to Netflix subscribers at no extra charge.

The original whimsical tale leapt off the pages into an animated adaptation in 1966, which later became a full-fledged feature performance in 2000 with Jim Carrey donning the iconic green coat.

This box office sensation has captured the hearts of moviegoers for more than 20 years, even leading one fan on Letterboxd to declare, "Quite legitimately and without any amount of sarcasm or irony, I think Jim Carrey deserved an Oscar nomination for this film."

Though not as famous, the 2018 animated version of Illumination delighted countless kids and boasts an outstanding vocal performance by Benedict Cumberbatch. | BGNES
