Netflix has released the first footage of the Prince Andrew movie

The first official footage from Netflix's upcoming film of Newsnight's interview with the Duke of York has been released, the BBC reports.

The photos show how the remarkable scenes from the 2019 interview between Prince Andrew and Emily Maitlis have been faithfully recreated.

Rufus Sewell stars as the Duke and Gillian Anderson as Maitlis.

In the interview, the Duke spoke candidly about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Netflix film, called 'Scoop', will dramatize how the BBC Two program secured the interview and looks set to show the drama behind the scenes as it unfolded.

Sewell is said to have spent around three hours in the make-up chair to transform into Prince Andrew, while Anderson's transformation into Maitlis was described by producers as "amazing", reports the Sunday Telegraph.

In the first of three photos released by Netflix, Sewell and Anderson can be seen talking while walking through a re-enactment of Buckingham Palace, where the interview took place./BGNES
