Netanyahu criticises Putin over Gaza war stance

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed to President Vladimir Putin Israel's "dissatisfaction" over Russia's vote in favour of a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, AFP reports.

"The prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the positions expressed against Israel by Russian representatives at the UN and in other forums" when he spoke with Putin on Sunday, Netanyahu's office said in a statement.

The United States vetoed Friday's Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. / BGNES
