Israeli troops will continue a planned ground offensive in the southern part of Gaza Rafah, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, quoted by Haaretz.
"No international pressure will prevent us from realizing all the objectives of the war... To do this, we will also act in Rafah," Netanyahu told a cabinet meeting.
BGNES recalls that the Prime Minister approved the plan for a military operation in Rafah on March 15.
Several countries have warned Israel against attacking the city, which is home to more than 1.4 million Palestinians, according to reports from the international community.
Israel has been waging a military offensive in the Gaza Strip since a Hamas attack on October 7 that killed nearly 1,200 people, mostly civilians.
Nearly 32,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. /BGNES
