Alexei Navalny's mother has seen the body of her own. Lyudmila Navalnaya stated this, BGNES reported.
"I just left the building of the Investigative Committee in the city of Salekhard. I spent almost a day there with the investigators and forensic scientists. They only released the lawyer this afternoon. Yesterday evening they secretly took me to the morgue and showed me Alexei's body. The investigators said they know the cause of death, all the documents I saw are ready. I signed the medical certificate," said his mother Lyudmila Navalnaya in a video message.
"By law, they should have given me Alexei's body right away, but they haven't done it so far. Instead, they blackmail me and set conditions on where and when Alexei should be buried. It's illegal," she adds.
Lyudmila Navalnaya stated that the investigators in front of her received orders - perhaps from the Kremlin, or from the headquarters of the Investigative Committee in Moscow - she does not know exactly that.
"They want the funeral to be done in secret and without a farewell ceremony. They want to take me to the edge of the cemetery, in front of a fresh grave and tell me: here lies your son. I will not agree to this," said the mother, adding that she wanted everyone for whom Alexei was a dear and respected person to have the opportunity to say goodbye to him.
Lyudmila Navalnaya said that she recorded this video because the authorities started threatening her. “They told me that if I did not agree to the secret burial, they would do something with my son's body. One investigator told me: time is not working for you, your son's body is decomposing. I don't want special treatment, I want everything to be done according to the law. All I want is for my son's body to be handed over to me immediately," Lyudmila Navalnaya said.
BGNES reminds you that the Russian oppositionist Navalny died on February 16 in the prison colony where he was serving a 19-year sentence. For nearly a week, Lyudmila Navalnaya was denied access to her son's body, and even his whereabouts were unclear.
The mysterious circumstances in which the dissident died suggest that Russian investigators deliberately hid his body in order to conceal the true reason for the tragic end of Vladimir Putin's fiercest opponent./BGNES
