"Navalni's mother filed a lawsuit over the Investigative Committee's refusal to release Alexei's body".
This was stated by Ivan Zhdanov, director of the late opposition leader's Foundation for Combating Corruption, CNN reported.
Russian state media reported that a "complaint" had been filed at the Salekhard City Court in the Arctic Circle by Lyudmila Navalnaya alleging "illegal actions and decisions," but did not specify who or what entity she was accusing or details of the alleged actions.
The hearing will be closed and is scheduled for March 4, the court announced.
Investigators informed Navalny's mother that they had moved her son's body to the Salekhard morgue. But when she and Navalny's lawyer arrived at the morgue last weekend, they were told the body was not there.
According to dissident spokeswoman Kira Yarmish, they were denied access to the morgue at least twice.
On February 20, Lyudmila Navalnaya posted a video in which she addressed Putin directly.
"Let me see my son," she said./BGNES
