NATO sees no direct Russian threat to its member states

NATO said today it sees no imminent military threat from Russia against any alliance member, but is maintaining its deterrence with the biggest exercise in decades set to begin later this week.
"We are doing all this to ensure that we have the necessary forces to prevent any possibility of miscalculation or misunderstanding in Moscow about our readiness to defend every inch of NATO territory," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters in Brussels.
"As long as we do that, there will be no attack on NATO territory," he stressed. /BGNES
