Napoli continued their strong start to the season in Italy's Serie A, with Antonio Conte's men beating AC Milan 2:0 away in a tie from the tenth round of the championship.
Romelu Lukaku put the Neapolitans ahead in the score as early as the 5th minute. At the end of the first half, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead of the visiting team. At the start of the second half, Alvaro Morata brought the Rossoneri back into the game, but only briefly, after a VAR intervention correctly disallowed the goal due to an offside position of the Spaniard.
Napoli thus achieved a fifth consecutive victory in Serie A and a total of eight in their first ten matches. The only loss so far came in the first round when Conte and company lost 0:3 to Verona. The Neapolitans have a seven-point lead over champions Inter, who visit Empoli tonight. Milan is in eighth position with 14 points.
The Rossoneri's next opponent is Monza, while Napoli will look to extend their winning streak at home to Atalanta.
