Musk will move SpaceX and X headquarters to Texas

Entrepreneur Elon Musk has said he will move the headquarters of SpaceX and X to Texas. It came after a California law barred schools from requiring teachers to notify parents of changes in students' gender identity.

"This is the last straw," Musk wrote on his social network X.
"Because of this law and many others that have preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its headquarters from Hawthorne, California to Starbus, Texas," the businessman said.
The multi-billionaire also said he was moving X from its San Francisco headquarters to Austin, a threat he's made before but never followed through on.
Musk has already moved Tesla's headquarters from Palo Alto to Silicon Valley in Austin, Texas.
"About a year ago, I made it clear to Governor Newsom that laws like this would force families and companies out of California to protect their children," Musk wrote.
On July 15, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill into law after a contentious legislative process that pitted a handful of school boards fighting for parental rights against LGBTI activists concerned about the well-being of vulnerable students.
Newsom, who has been considered a potential alternative to President Joe Biden as a candidate for the White House, has often exchanged fire with conservatives over gender issues in public schools.
Last year, he signed a law that fines school districts that ban textbooks depicting LGBTI and other marginalized groups. | BGNES
