Moscow's property in the Czech Republic frozen by Czech government

A business that manages Russian property overseas was added to the list of entities subject to sanctions by the Czech government, which on Wednesday froze Russian property on Czech soil, according to AFP.

"The freezing of Russian state property in the Czech Republic has been approved by the government," Channel X quoted Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky as saying. "This is the end of commercial activities used by Russia to finance the murders of Ukrainians," he continued. The land registry will freeze the company's property records and bank account in order to stop any sales.

Russian diplomatic missions within the nation, including its embassy in Prague, are unaffected by the measure. Ruggedly standing by Ukraine against Russia's invasion in February 2022, the 10.5 million-person EU and NATO member Czech Republic is a fervent backer of her country. Along with accepting more than half a million Ukrainian migrants, Prague has generously donated military and humanitarian aid to Kiev.

Dmytro Kuleba, the foreign minister of Ukraine, commended Prague for adopting "this principled step". "Kuleba stated in X that all nations who have not yet done so ought to do so." "Russian money should be used to rebuild Ukraine, instead of killing and destroying." /BGNES
