Recently, the French public met the dark, yet comical film entitled "Dear Paris", also called Paradis Paris (Paradise Paris).
"Dear Paris" is a creation of the Parisian anthology, joining an interconnected set of stories, this time starring Monica Bellucci, reports the website FirstShowing.
The new film from award-winning director Marjane Satrapi (who also made Persepolis, The Plum Chicken, The Voices) is a darkly cheerful love letter to the City of Light - with a stunning ensemble cast that includes Monica Bellucci, Rossi De Palma, Alex Lutz, Martina Garcia, Eduardo Noriega, and Ben Aldridge.
It's a darkly humorous comedy in which an ensemble of endearing characters face death only to embrace life again.
What makes life worth living? In a series of interconnected stories, Parisians find their lives turned upside down when death knocks on their door: a narcissistic Italian opera singer (Monica Bellucci) wakes up in the morgue to find that her own demise has gone unnoticed; a British stuntman (Ben Aldridge) questions his own profession when his son has an accident; an eccentric old Colombian woman (Rossi de Palma) makes a pact with death itself...
As each character strives to reconnect with what matters most, the city of light, love, and endless possibilities shines brighter than ever.
Dear Paris, also known as Paradis Paris, is directed by the famous Iranian director Marjane Satrapi. The screenplay was written by her together with Marie Madinier. Produced by Isaac Shari.
Studiocanal released Dear Paris in French cinemas on June 12, 2024.
We are still awaiting international dates, which will likely be later in the year. | BGNES
