For the first time, Mohammed is the most popular name among children in the UK. That's according to figures from the National Statistics Institute in London.
Mohammed has been in the top ten most common names since 2016, but this year it has overtaken previous favourite Noah for the first time.
For the eighth year running, Olivia is the most popular name among girls. Amelia and Isla came second and third, the institute's data also showed.
In 2023, 4,661 children were born with the name Mohammed in the UK. In 2022, the number was 4,177. | BGNES
