Former Vice President of the United States Mike Pence said that he will not support Donald Trump, against the background of the upcoming fight between the former president and Biden, reported AFP.
"It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year," Pence said in an interview with Fox News.
The pair became estranged after Trump tried to pressure Pence to help him reverse his 2020 election defeat by Joe Biden, repeatedly attacking him on social media when he disagreed with the scheme.
Pence said Trump is "pursuing and expressing an agenda that is at odds with the conservative agenda that we have governed for our four years."
The 64-year-old Pence's comments come days after Trump secured enough delegates to win the Republican nomination and face Biden in November.
Pence was one of Trump's early rivals in the primary race ahead of the 2024 election, although he dropped out of the race last October after failing to reach double-digit results in polls./BGNES
