Mickoski's right hand man: Macedonia and Serbia will hold joint government meetings, Serbs and Macedonians are brothers

"Macedonia and Serbia have very close relations and with the formation of the new government led by VMRO-DPMNE, they will improve even more because these are two friendly, two brotherly nations that should have the best relations and the best cooperation." This was stated by Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and right-hand man of Christian Mitkoski - Aleksandar Nikoloski, BGNES reports.

"We talked about political and economic cooperation, of course about warming political relations and improving economic cooperation, increasing trade, trade exchange, creating as many jobs as possible both in Macedonia and Serbia for companies that work both in Macedonia and Serbia," Nikoloski told a news conference.

The meetings discussed the improvement of infrastructure, primarily Corridor 10 and the construction of the high-speed railway line between Thessaloniki and Belgrade.

"You know that one of the main commitments of the VMRO-DPMNE government and my personal commitment as deputy prime minister and minister of transport is the construction of a high-speed railway Skopje-Sologne, which should be added to the high-speed railway that already exists from Thessaloniki to Athens, and also the high-speed railway Belgrade-Budapest-Vienna.

I hope that Serbia will build the Belgrade-Nis-Skopje line as soon as possible. At the same time, business should develop, because two major ports will be opened that naturally gravitate towards Macedonia, namely the port of Thessaloniki and the port of Piraeus in Athens," Nikolovski explained, adding, "we are arranging a visit of a delegation of the Serbian government to Macedonia, and we expect soon to establish cooperation to hold joint meetings of the Macedonian and Serbian governments."

Bernabic expressed her satisfaction with the visit and congratulated the Macedonian representatives on the formation of the new government.

"North Macedonia can always count on Serbia's sincere support and partnership," she said.

During the meeting, they discussed possibilities for "further development of friendly relations, building on common history and close cultural ties."

Special emphasis was placed on parliamentary cooperation. A friendship group with Serbia has been set up in the North Macedonian parliament.

Bernabic and Stoilkovic discussed the protocol signed in Skopje, which enables the creation of a free labour market within the framework of the Open Balkans.

"The strong and permanent ties between the two nations represent a solid basis for the further development of cooperation at all levels, Stoilkovic said. | BGNES
