Argentina thrashed Bolivia 6:0 at home in a World Cup qualifier in CONMEBOL zone.
In Buenos Aires, the world champions and Copa America winners ended a run of two consecutive matches without victory in qualifying - a loss to Colombia and a draw with Venezuela, after a Lionel Messi show. The superstar of "Albiceleste" played and strung a hat-trick, while also accounting for two assists. The other three goals were scored by Lautaro Martinez, Julián Alvarez and substitute Thiago Almada.
Argentina lead the standings after ten games with 22 points, three more than second-placed Colombia, who also had a convincing 4:0 win over Chile. Bolivia is in seventh position with 12 points. In their next matches, Argentina visit Paraguay, while Bolivia play Ecuador.
In another qualifying match, Brazil finally showed their strength and power as they thrashed Peru 4:0. Raphinha twice from the penalty spot, Andreas Pereira and Luis Henrique - the last two coming off the bench - scored for the Seleção, who recorded their second consecutive win and now occupy 4th place in the standings with 16 points, the same as third-placed Uruguay. The Brazilians face Venezuela, while penultimate Peru host Chile.
