Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play against each other once again when Inter Miami take on Al Nasser in the Riyadh Season Cup in February. It was previously reported that Inter would not be taking part in the competition, but it has now emerged that the Miami outfit will play Ronaldo's Al Hilal and Al Nasser next year.
This will be the 38th match between the two footballers, considered one of the greatest of all time. "These matches will offer important tests for our team, which will benefit us in preparation for the new season. We are excited to face teams with so much quality like Al Hilal and Al Nasser,” Inter Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said.
Inter will face Al Hilal on January 29 as part of their preparations for the new MLS campaign. Al Hilal are leading the way in the Saudi league, boasting the names of former Premier League players such as Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Aleksandar Mitrovic. Inter's match with Al Nasser is scheduled for February 1. Ronaldo's side are second in the domestic league table and the Portuguese superstar is the top scorer with 16 goals.
Ronaldo and Messi met in a friendly earlier this year when Paris Saint-Germain played Riyadh All-Stars. The world champion with Argentina leads the Portuguese 17-11 in head-to-head matches with Ronaldo's teams. /BGNES
