Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni offered Lebanon his support for mediation between the country and Israel, Anadolu Agency reported.
In a phone conversation with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Meloni discussed how to boost ongoing mediation efforts between Lebanon and Israel, underlining Italy's full commitment to work with all stakeholders.
"The Prime Minister confirmed that Italy is fully committed to the stability of Lebanon," her office said.
The two prime ministers agreed that it is necessary to avoid any escalation of the conflict in Gaza, where the war has been going on for more than 100 days.
"The two leaders also agreed to continue to coordinate decisions on the development of the crisis," Meloni's office said.
